Back in the 1500s and 1600s, witch hysteria was a crucial topic that swiped accross europe and the americas. Christians thought that all witches were Devil Worshippers and executed all accused witches. They had thought that witches all made pacts with the devil and that the only way to get rid of the devil was to get rid of all the witches. So many people went across the land prosecuting, hanging, burning and executing all who were suspected of witchcraft. These people were called Holy Men but nowadays are known as witch hunters. Any people who wereaccused of witchcraft were Imprisoned and tortured until they admited to witch craft and satanism and once they admitted they were killed. Today, many historians suspect that many of these people werent witches at all never mind satanists because Once you were accused, you were doomed to being tortured until death. You couldnt prove innocence and so many so called witches were not witches but had enemies who false witnessed to seeing them doing witchcraft and so they would just use the witch hysteria as a moral excuse for revenge. Also, most of these so called witches made up stories of signing pacts with the devil and told it to the court just so they would stop being tortured and die. Who knows how much of the witch hysteria was true!
to this day, many people are afraid to become wiccans because they are afraid of suffering a similar fate and so they live their lives pretending to believe in christianity. i mean i respect christianity but believe me, its not fun to pretend to believe something that you dont and its even worse to lie to yourself thinking that you believe it when deep down you know you arent truely happy. You shouldnt feel trapped like a genie in a bottle. It is a human right to be able to worship any religion you so choose and also it is in the united states constitution that you can! You have the humane and legal right to do so, just not the social right. Well why dont you? I know; because noone else you know is a wiccan and so you will have nobody to support you. think again, Im sure there are plenty of people in the church who feel the same and when they see you take the first step and become wiccan, other people will start becoming wiccan as well. So please take the first step and get out of the broom closet!
